Hertsmere's appraisals count 39 statutory listed buildings across Bushey's two conservation areas. The town has a High Street where some offices occupy buildings first built as houses, and no fire station of its own since the Rudolph Road station closed in 2014.

Businesses and buildings in Bushey
Bushey recorded 28,416 residents in the 2021 census, making it the second most populated town in Hertsmere, between Watford and London. Hertsmere's 2008 conservation area appraisal describes the High Street as the town's retail centre, with shops, convenience stores, specialist outlets and restaurants serving a mainly local trade, alongside three churches, two halls, two pubs, a bank and a museum. It notes that some commercial buildings now used as offices were first built as houses. Bushey House Beaumont, a care home run by Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited, is at 57-59 High Street.
Bushey Meads School on Coldharbour Lane is an 11 to 18 academy with around 1,251 pupils. Immanuel College occupies the 11-acre grounds of Caldecote Towers on Elstree Road, and the Purcell School for Young Musicians, a day and boarding school for around 180 pupils, has occupied the former Royal Caledonian School campus on Aldenham Road since 1997. Up the hill in Bushey Heath, the 2013 appraisal of the High Road conservation area records a petrol station, restaurants and a pub just outside its boundary, with the protected area itself now entirely residential.
