Ashford is the largest residential area in Spelthorne, and Stanwell reaches north from it to the edge of Heathrow. Between them sit a linear shopping centre, a hospital, care homes for people living with dementia and warehouse estates off Feltham Road, all in Spelthorne.
IDS Global has traded since 2011 from one office at 27-37 Station Road, Hayes, and is a member of the IFSM and the FPA. To reach Ashford from Hayes, take the A312 Parkway to Hatton and join the A30, which runs along the northern edge of the town.
Businesses and buildings in Ashford
Spelthorne's Local Plan, adopted in March 2026, classes Ashford as one of three district centres, behind Staines-upon-Thames. It describes the town centre as linear, ringed by housing and serving mainly local needs, with parades at Feltham Road, Staines Road West, Convent Road and Woodlands Parade on Ashford Common. Ashford Hospital on London Road, run by Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, offers day-case surgery, diagnostics, outpatients and an urgent treatment centre, and the plan names it a major employer. The plan also notes that the water industry is a major land user in the borough, with reservoirs including the Queen Mary and treatment works at Ashford.
Commercial space is tucked between homes. The plan says the largest commercial area is around Littleton Road and Ashford Road, and several units sit down residential access roads. Ashford Industrial Estate, off Challenge Road, is marketed with warehouse units from 2,323 to 16,111 sq ft with electric loading doors and three-phase power. At 158-166 Feltham Road the plan describes Ashford Business Complex as 17 single-storey brick business units, bounded on three sides by houses. In Stanwell, the plan treats Bedfont Road as one of Spelthorne's five Strategic Employment Areas.
