Kilburn High Road follows the old Watling Street and forms the boundary between Camden on the east side and Brent on the west, so two councils and two Local Plans cover one continuous shopping street. Our engineers travel from Hayes on the A40 to Hanger Lane, the A406 to Staples Corner, then the A5 south.
IDS Global has traded since 2011 from 27-37 Station Road, Hayes, and is a member of the IFSM and the FPA.
Businesses and buildings in Kilburn
Brent's Local Plan classes Kilburn as a Major Town Centre and records that it has the highest comparison goods turnover of any centre in the borough. It is also the main evening destination for the area, with the Kiln Theatre, the Lexi cinema, the Gaumont State and pubs that host live performance. Camden's 2017 Local Plan names Kilburn High Road as one of its six town centres, and the two councils have run a joint programme for the street since 2021. Behind the shopfronts, the Brent plan describes Victorian terraces around Kilburn, Brondesbury and Queen's Park, and the 1960s and 1970s concrete towers of the South Kilburn Estate.
Work premises are small and mixed. Brent's plan records the highest proportion of micro businesses, home working and self-employment in the borough, with creative firms in the Queen's Park Creative Quarter and along the High Road. Camden's plan describes Kilburn as a source of secondary office space and workshops, with railway arches, mews and converted residential buildings around Kilburn and West Hampstead. Camden also promotes a growth area for housing, employment and town centre uses around the West Hampstead interchange of three stations.
