TW11 has two Victorian and Edwardian shopping streets, a Thames weir that marks the river's usual tidal limit, Bushy Park and the National Physical Laboratory. From Hayes, the A312 runs south to Hampton, crossing the A316 on the way, and the A313 links Hampton Hill with Teddington High Street and the lock.
IDS Global has traded since 2011 from one office at 27-37 Station Road, Hayes, and is a member of the IFSM and the FPA.
Businesses and buildings in Teddington
Richmond's centre survey, carried out between October and November 2021, lists Teddington as one of five main centres, with Hampton Hill a local centre. The council's 2017 planning guidance describes Broad Street as mainly Victorian and Edwardian with some newer retail units, and the High Street as a mix of Victorian and Edwardian parades with some eighteenth century buildings.
The same guidance names Teddington Business Park, the National Physical Laboratory and part of Waldegrave Road as locally important areas for industry and employment. The business park on Station Road is a group of 1980s units beside the railway station. One unit marketed there has a light industrial ground floor, first floor offices, a roller shutter loading door and an alarm. The laboratory has stood in Teddington since 1900, in a large gated complex on the edge of Bushy Park. On Broom Road, the former Teddington Studios were demolished in February 2016 for housing, and Richmond's completed housing list records 16 affordable rent homes there, finished in 2019/20.
